8 Things To Remember when Leasing

These unique floor plans are something to brag about. Moving into a new apartment is exciting but the check-list of things to remember can be daunting. The Point at Greystone wants to be here to ensure a smooth process.
Here are 8 things to remember to make the leasing process go smoothly:
- Move-In Date: Make sure you know the exact date and time you are able to move into your new apartment. Feel free to communicate with our property manager to ensure a seamless move-in process.
- Utilities: Most apartment homes come with utilities to be additional to your rent. Make sure you check with your property manager or landlord to see what you are responsible for. They will have a list and instructions available to you.
- Walk-Through Inspection: Before you move in, do a walk-through inspection with your landlord or property manager. Note any damages or issues with the apartment so they can be addressed before you move in.
- Renter’s Insurance: Obtaining renter’s insurance is required when renting an apartment home; to protect your personal belongings along with the building in case of theft, fire, or other disasters. Tip: Check with your car insurance. They may help with bundling the two.
- Change of Address: Make sure to update your new address with the post office, your bank, and any other important entities.
- Parking: If you have a car, make sure to ask about parking options and obtain any necessary permits or passes.
- Rent Payment: Set up your rent payment method and schedule with your landlord or property manager.
- Moving Logistics: Plan out the logistics of your move, including hiring movers or renting a moving truck if necessary.
